Calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium act as strong alkalizing agents in the body. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral. Below 7 is considered acidic and above 7 alkaline. Your body’s pH level plays a critical role in its ability to remain healthy. Cells in the body that are poorly oxygenated are slightly on the side of acid and much more likely to be in a state that is prone to becoming ill. As many illnesses occur when pH falls into the acid range, it is essential to alkalize the body to a pH of 7.4 or slightly above, by every means available.
