Horse Chestnut Extract - Varicose Veins Treatment, Cause - Dose
Horse chestnut extract has demonstrated a variety of beneficial effects including supporting a healthy fluid balance, antioxidant, venotonic (helpful to veins), and may protect vessels and/or ducts.189-202 The key active ingredient in horse chestnut is a substance called escin.203
Venotone is an extract of horse chestnut, which has been standardized and concentrated to ensure the highest quality, consistency and biological activity.

Horse Chestnut seed (Aesculus hippocastanum) powdered extract yielding 20% (50 mg) triterpene glycosides calculated as escin.

Other ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, silica, magnesium stearate, gelatin.
This product contains NO milk, egg, fish, peanuts, crustacean shellfish (lobster, crab, shrimp), soybeans, tree nuts, wheat, yeast, gluten, corn, or rice. Contains NO sugar, and no artificial sweeteners, flavors, or preservatives.
Dosage and Use: The key active ingredient in horse-chestnut is a substance called escin. Pharmaceutical-grade horse-chestnut extracts contain between 16 and 20 percent escin. The dose used in clinical studies is 50 mg of escin taken two times a day. This dose is provided by one 250 mg tablet of horse chestnut extract standardized at 20 percent escin, taken every 12 hours or as recommended by a healthcare practitioner. Sustained release provides continuous activity while minimizing/cause any possible gastric irritation.
As studies have shown, constipation/straining may worsen varicose veins. Therefore, Venotone may be enhanced by consumption of magnesium which some people use as a natural laxative.
