Coconut Oil, Organic Virgin -- 14 ounces

Tropical Traditions Organic Virgin Coconut Oil is high in lauric acid which has many health promoting values.  It is a great moisturizer for the skin.  In addition, when mixed with BHT, it enhances the effectiveness of BHT (butylated-hydroxytoluene) according to Research Scientists/Authors John Mann and Steven Fowkes as a support nutrient for cold sores/herpes.

Coconut oil, unlike most other cooking oils, does not require refrigeration and does not become rancid, even after prolonged storage at room temperature.  Prior to the early 1900s (and the introduction by the food processing industry of artificially hardened vegetable oils), coconut oil was the principle dietary fat in the USA.

Although Organic Virgin Coconut Oil is a saturated fat, it has many remarkable health-giving properties, among which are its antioxidant action (probably by supporting mitochondrial function).

Recommended Dose:  Can be applied directly to skin and hair.  Organic Virgin Coconut Oil can also be used in place of butter and other cooking oils or mixed with BHT (butylated-hydroxytoluene).

Directions:  As a cooking oil, coconut oil can be substituted for butter, margarine or other oils.  It may be applied directly to the skin or added to bathwater for year-round care.  Coconut oil is not greasy and soothes easily into skin.  Use before and after shampoo to add sheen and prevent dry hair.  It will harden at temperatures below 74 degrees F.
