Acetylcholine levels have been shown to increase rapidly after eating foods, such as egg yolk and liver, that are high in choline. Choline is a nutrient closely related to B vitamins that helps the body produce and metabolize essential levels of fats and cholesterol. These properties explain the importance of choline in the manufacture of cell membranes, particularly of cells in the brain and central nervous system, while helping to protect the liver from the accumulation of excess fatty deposits. In addition, choline and Vitamin B5 are associated with sex drive.

Each (Vcap) capsule contains 250 mg of highly bioavailable choline citrate along with 50 mg of vitamin B5 (calcium pantothenate -- pantothenic acid).

Other Ingredients: Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (Vcap). Contains no added starch, salt, wheat, gluten, corn, coloring, or dairy products.

Keep container tightly closed in a cool, dry and dark place. Keep out of reach of children.

Caution: Based on the research to date, a reasonable amount of choline supplementation is 250 to 1000 milligrams daily. Excessive consumption of choline can cause excessive muscle tension, which may produce symptoms such as a stiff neck, headaches or gastric cramps. A few people may develop a fishy smell when using a choline supplement due to bacterial degradation of choline in their intestines. If this occurs, try taking your choline in divided doses with meals rather than all at once. Persons with ulcers or a history of ulcers should consult their physician before using a choline supplement since choline may increase stomach acid production. Because of the increasingly recognized importance of choline in the diet, it seems plausible that most of us are not consuming an optimal level of choline sources in our diet.
